“If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice”
- Freewill/Rush
I'm getting ready soon to preform a single song at a church event. It's a song that's on the Nostalgia record called What Didn't Go Wrong Today. I wrote it a while back as an end of the day meditation/prayer/reminder that on most days, things going pretty well. Sure, there are the minor hassles and aggravations, but on most days, tragedies and calamities passed me on by. That's easy for me to take for granted.
My friend Nick is jumping in with a second guitar and some harmonies. It should be fun.
What Didn't Go Wrong Today
Well, this is a song of what didn't go wrong, what didn't go wrong today
Lots of things went right; I can sleep tonight, 'cause the devil stayed away
No gun in my face, no breakneck pace, I had plenty of food to eat
No auto wreck, no bad news text, I had good shoes on my feet
So this is a song of what didn't go wrong, what didn't go wrong today
I'm happy because, in spite of my flaws, some people loved me anyway
No bad test results, I didn't join a cult, and every bit of sunshine was free
I had friends galore and what is more, I didn't lose my keys
So this is a song of what didn't go wrong, what didn't go wrong today
Let me emphasize, it could have been otherwise, it could have gone another way
Yes, this is a song of what didn't go wrong, what didn't go wrong today
I give thanks tonight that so much went right, good Lord this I pray
Amen
