7-9-26 - Who is That?

“Anything that gets your blood racing is probably worth doing.”
                                                           - Hunter S. Thompson

Look up the movie soundtracks considered the best of all time and you'll see lots of the same names.

Garden State, Almost Famous, The Blues Brothers, The Graduate, A Hard Day's Night, Help!, Singles, Rushmore, Saturday Night Fever, Superfly, Inside Llewyn Davis, O' Brother, Where Art Thou?, Pulp Fiction, Dazed and Confused, American Graffiti, Lost in Translation and one that tops many a list, Purple Rain.

Several of those I'm a fan of.  Sometimes it's not the entirety of a soundtrack, but maybe just one song that turns you on to a previously unknown artist.  I'm pretty sure I've mentioned learning of Deb Talan from a little art house film back in 2002 called Lovely and Amazing.  That lucky occurrence led to 24 year fandom.

More recently, in the movie Peanut Butter Falcon, a song showed up that was new to me.  I waited for the closing credits… The Stable Song by Gregory Alan Isakov.  I'm now a follower.  He's an artist to be acquainted with.

The movie, too, is one that I would recommend to anyone.  It's a winner.  One of its many charms is it has Bruce Dern in a small role.  Bruce Dern, I say.  The worst movie ever made would be worth seeing if Bruce Dern was in it.  If you haven't seen him in Nebraska, you've missed out.

Any soundtracks or songs from one that should be mentioned?
