Here's some trivia you might not know. Maybe the knowledge will come in handy at the next dull gathering you attend. Just throw one of these out:
Do you know who wrote the Bangles' hit Manic Monday? Prince. Sinead O'Connor's Nothing Compare 2U? Prince, again. How about Tim McGraw's Humble and Kind? That would be Lori McKenna. Patsy Cline's Crazy? Willie Nelson. The Monkees' I'm a Believer and UB40's Red, Red Wine? Neil Diamond, both. The Eagles' Take it Easy? Jackson Browne. Cocaine made famous by Eric Clapton? JJ Cale. Respect by Aretha Franklin? Otis Redding.
There's a bunch of others. Do you have any for the list? One of my favorites is Lotta Love which was a big Nicolette Larson hit back in the day. If you don't know the song, you should. It was written by…Neil Young. Here's the original and also a cover by Courtney Barnett. Do you know her? She's a quirky rocker from down under. I'll attach one of her own (with a Jeff Tweedy cameo):
