Pretty often I'm asked some version of, “Who is the female singing with you on some of your songs?” I will tell you what I tell them: That is a talented woman named Julia Smith. She has her own recording/performing career under the name, Mabel Laine.
She and Studio 2100 owner, Jeff Smith, the master of all things music, are husband and wife. Julia is kind enough to add her beautiful voice to some of my tunes. It's not rare that when I run a demo version of a song by Kendra for her opinion, she will say, “ Julia would sound great with this.” I've never disagreed.
