11-13-25 - Three For Thursday

“All music is folk music.  I ain't never heard a horse sing a song.”
                                                                   - Louis Armstrong

What would be your dream job?  What would you do for free?  What do you do in life that you enjoy so much you lose track of time?  I hope you are lucky enough to have done whatever that is as a career.

Yesterday I talked about the DJ Clyde Clifford on station KAAY in Little Rock, Arkansas, in the early 1970s.  He had a free-wheelin' show from 11:00 pm to 2:00 am six-nights a week.  Clyde's Beaker Street show consisted of his playing music that he thought was cool and wanted to share.  He had absolutely no restrictions (save for ones governed by obscenity laws) on what he played.  Whatever he wanted to play, he played.  The people responded with enthusiasm.

I had a rewarding and enjoyable working career.  I loved what I did.  But, if I have to answer the “Dream Job” question, it would be to do exactly what Clyde did.  Night after night sending whatever I thought was good, regardless of genre, out into the universe for anyone interested. That would be bliss - just one long continuous mixtape.

I'll practice playing Clyde on Three For Thursday.  I'll send three songs out into the universe.  Perhaps they're new to someone listening and so an introduction to a new song or artist will been made.  Yay. Here goes:
