10-8-25. Cover Me

"Immature poets imitate; mature poets steal; bad poets deface what they take, and good poets make it into something better."                                                                                                             - T S Eliot

For music geeks, cover versions of songs can produce strong opinions.  There are the ones that we like and think are splendid and the ones we hate and think are crimes.  I have a couple of the latter.  Ones that are quite well known and they make me furious when I hear them (I hate to name names: Uncle Kracker and Luke Combs).
Why not just throw mustard on the Mona Lisa?

If you're not a nerd on this you could likely care less and you may not even know what the term “Cover Song” means.  That's all well and good.  But for the music dorks, the pros and cons of various cover versions of songs are fodder for fun discussion and debate.

I could lists dozens of covers that delight me and a handful that make me wretch.  Here's an original and a cover that I think is reimagined in a cool way.   RP
