1-19-26 - Gone to the Movies

“The length of a film should be directly related to the endurance of the human bladder.”
                                                                                                                      - Alfred Hitchcock

Kendra made me aware that yesterday was "National Popcorn Day."  If you went to see a movie, you could take any size container with you to the theatre and they would fill it for $5.  That's a deal since popcorn now costs $12 a bucket.

We as a people don't go to the movies like we once did.  Fill in your reasons why.  Movies used to be a cultural event.  You gathered at theaters and saw people you knew.  You talked about movies with friends and people at work.  They were societal connective tissue.  No longer.  With 7,000 various viewing choices, we have no commonality.  But, that's just me bangin' on about what once was.

If you're like me, you have a few scenes from movies that you could watch over and over and never get tired of.  I have many, a few of which I can't post here, but here are a couple of my faves.  I'd love to know some of yours.

I want Mattie on my team.
