1-16-26 - Reinterpreted

“Magic lives in curves, not angles.”

I like it when musicians reinterpret their own work.  When they take an original and slow it down or speed it up, or use completely different instrumentation.  It makes it a whole different experience, a whole new song.

Here's one of my favorites, Ryan Adams' song New York, New York off of his album “Gold,” released in 2001.  The original video that goes with it was shot on September 7, 2001.  It makes it a bit eerie.  His slowed down, piano version he sometimes does in concert.

Happy Birthday, Grace!
