“There's a lot of things blamed on me that never happened. But then there's a lot of things that I did that I never got caught at.”
- Johnny Cash
Today is the anniversary of Johnny Cash's iconic performance at Folsom Prison in 1968. That makes me think of my buddy John Meyer and his musical collaborator, Mo Pitney. They recently recorded their Pitney-Meyer album, Cherokee Pioneer in Johnny Cash's cabin down in Bon Aqua, Tennessee. They recorded it analog, directly to tape, which is rarely done in this digital age. I recently saw them perform at the Starvy Creek Bluegrass Festival in Conway, Mo. Big crowd, great show. See them if you can.
Plans are in the works for John to do a house show here at our place in March. Stay tuned for details. It will be fun.
