6-6-26 - Dude in the Title

“Men are from Earth, women are from Earth.  Deal with it.”

I saw a question this week that asked “What's a great song with someone's name in the title?”  I don't think there's much challenge in that.  There are thousands of songs with proper names in them, but most are women's.  The name Mary alone appears in more than 1,800 song titles.  I can name ten off the top of my head with Jane in the title.  There are way, way more female names in song titles than there are men's.  Probably because up until fairly recently, men were writing most of the songs.

It's sportier to come up with a good, interesting song with a dude's name in the title.  Did you know Elton John and Bernie Taupin chose the name Levon for the title of their song because of Levon Helm.  The song has nothing to do with the real Levon, they just liked the sound of it.

For my picks I exclude Alex Chilton by The Replacements, here..  I've referenced it too many times…wait, is that possible?

Who doesn't love Sarah?
